Father Jacob Serry was born in Cairo, Egypt. He Earned a Doctorate in Child and Family Clinical Psychology and was an Assistant Professor of Psychology. His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion accompanied by His Grace Bishop Suriel, His Grace Bishop Abraham, and His Grace Bishop Kyrillos ordained him as Full Deacon on October 6, 2022 during the monthly clergy meeting, and then ordained him as Presbyter on October 9, 2022, to serve at Holy Virgin Mary Coptic Orthodox Church in Los Angeles, California.
