Axios! Consecration Of Bishop Abraham and Bishop Kyrillos As Auxiliary Bishops For The Diocese

With great joy and jubilation, the children of the Diocese celebrates the consecration of Hegumen Father Ishak Saint Antony and Hegumen Father John Paul Saint Antony as auxiliary bishops with the names Bishop Abraham and Bishop Kyrillos, respectively.

The consecration commenced Saturday evening at the Cathedral of the Holy Virgin in Zeitoun, Cairo, Egypt with our beloved father, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II introducing the candidates and their respective services. Bishop Abraham and Bishop Kyrillos will continue their blessed service in the Diocese as auxiliary bishops to His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion. In addition, the blessed father, Hegumen Father Moses Saint Mary (from the Monastery of Saint Mary and Abba Moses in Texas) was also introduced and called as Bishop Peter for the new Diocese of the Carolinas, Kentucky, and their surrounding regions. Afterwards, the candidates were introduced to the people through the rite of a procession in the cathedral. Their liturgical vestments were then blessed by His Holiness and all of the hierarchs and members of the Holy Synod. Finally, each one of them was individually called and consecrated by their new names as His Holiness laid hands on each of them.

It was a most auspicious occasion full of joy and blessing. The consecration was completed in the Divine Liturgy Sunday, June 13 at the Cathedral of the Holy Virgin in Zeitoun, Cairo, Egypt.
