On Thursday, June 20, 2013, His Grace Bishop Serapion announced the decree of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II to incorporate the city of Fresno into the Diocese of Los Angeles, Southern California, and Hawaii. As a result, Archangels Michael and Gabriel Coptic Orthodox Church become a diocesan parish from June 2013 until the present.
