On Friday, April 7, 2006 Fr. David Abdelsayed returned from his 40 day stay in the Monastary of St. Pishoy, in Wadi El Natroun Region, Egypt. The Rites of Receiving the new Priest took place at St. Maurice Church, the Church in which he will be serving. The vespers prayers were attended by many of the clergy of the Diocese.
Fr. David Abdelsyed was ordained priest on Sunday, February 19, 2006, at Saint Maurice Church in Pomona, His Grace Bishop Serapion ordained the blessed servant, then Nagui Abdelsayed now Fr. David, as a priest for the Diocese of Los Angeles to serve the Church of Saint Maurice in Pomona.
Fr. David Abdelsayed was born in America in October 9, 1974 and prior to his ordination, he served as a sunday school teacher and youth leader in Saint Athanasius Church in Northridge since 1991 until 2002. He served as a consecrated servant for the Diocese of Los Angeles since 1998; and at Saint Verena and the Three Holy Youth Church and the Coptic Orthodox Christian Center since 2002. Fr. David has a masters degree in Structural Engineering and as well as a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. He is the son-in-law of Fr. Athanasius Ragheb and the twin brother of Fr. John Paul Abdelsayed.
