Orthodox Day of Praise – Saturday, May 18

The Sixth Annual Orthodox Day of Praise takes place on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Saint Peter and Saint Paul Coptic Orthodox Church in Santa Monica, California. With the permission of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Southern California and Hawaii, led by His Grace Bishop Serapion, this annual event brings together the various Orthodox churches from all over Southern California to present praises and hymns in many of their ancient languages and traditions.

The purpose of this gathering is sharing and uniting the Christian Orthodox Faith, celebrating, and praising God through singing. The event includes different Orthodox choir groups such as Armenian, Syrian, Russian, Ukrainian, Serbian, Ethiopian, Indian, Antochian and many other churches who present songs and hymens from their traditions.

The admission is free as well as the agape brunch, children activates and babysitting.

Schedule:

  • Liturgy — 8:00-10:00 a.m.
  • Brunch — 10:00-11:30 a.m.
  • Hymns and Praises — 11:30 a.m.

After the event ends the attendees are then invited to enjoy Egyptian desserts and pastries. This gives everyone a chance to mingle some more, and share their thoughts and opinions of the event. Overall, the day is usually overflows with great memories, wonderful songs and traditions, and newly-formed friendships.

This is an ever-growing event; and those who attended once cannot wait until the year after.
