We’re approaching that time of year again where we put away our meat and dairy products, fast ‘til sunset, and immerse ourselves in the full love of Christ through prayer and thanksgiving. Yes, the Great Lent is approaching us and what better way to enhance your journey during the fast and prepare yourself for Holy Week than by attending the Annual GYP Lenten Retreat? We are very fortunate and blessed to have with us this year Father Pimen Shenoda (priest for the churches of Saint Paul and Saint Marina in the Diocese of Los Angeles).
So get ready to retreat to a quiet Santa Barbara Mission for a weekend of deep spiritual nourishment, in praise and worship, and undisturbed time with God. In fellowship with one another, we will eat together, pray together, and discuss how we can simplify our lives so that we have something to share with others. This year’s retreat will be based on the book On Social Justice by Saint Basil the Great.
