With our firm faith in the resurrection of the dead and the life of the age to come, the Diocese of Los Angeles announces the departure of the blessed and beloved, Fr. Samuel Samaan of St. Abanoub and St. Anthony Church in Corona, on the early Morning of Friday March 2, 2007.
Father Samuel Fahiem Samaan was born on September 20, 1936. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Cairo University Faculty of Arts. His Holiness Pope Shenouda III ordained him Priest on May 27, 1991. He has served at the Church of Saint Mary in Victorville, California; Saint Mark Church in Phoenix, Arizona; Saint Demiana Church in San Diego, California; and the Church of Archangel Rafael in Fresno, California, when these churches did not have a full time priest.
The funeral service for Fr.Samuel is on Tuesday March 6, 2007 at 1:00pm ( Divine Liturgy before the funeral service is at 10:00am) at St Abanoub and St.Antony Church in Norco.
