The Diocese, under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Serapion, joyfully awaits the safe arrival of our father in Christ, His Holiness Pope Abba Tawadros II, the 118th Pope Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of the Holy Apostle Mark.
In order to ensure the safety and organization of all the congregations, the Diocese has arranged for His Holiness to visit different areas of the Diocese for services targeted to different groups. For example, there will be one meeting suited to Arabic-speaking youth and another suited to English-speaking youth according to the following tentative schedule:
Wednesday, October 14
- Official reception at St. Mark (Los Angeles) beginning at 6:00p
Thursday, October 15
- Divine Liturgy and Clergy Meeting at St. Maurice
- Arabic Youth Meeting at St. George (Bellflower)
Friday, October 16
- English Youth Meeting at St. Verena and the Three Holy Youth (in a separate facility; registration required)
Saturday, October 17
- Consecration of St. Mary and St. Athanasius (Northridge)
- Evening Raising of Incense at St. John (Covina)
Sunday, October 18
- Consecration of St. Pope Kyrillos VI Church (Westminster)
- Santa Verena Charity Banquet
Monday, October 19
- Divine Liturgy at St. Mina (Riverside)
- Visit to Claremont Graduate University
- Consecration of Cornerstone at St. Justina (Rancho Cucamonga)
