Ordination of Fr. David Abdelsayed

On Sunday, February 19, 2006, at Saint Maurice Church in Pomona, His Grace Bishop Serapion ordained the blessed servant, Nagui Abdelsayed, now Fr. David, as a priest for the Diocese of Los Angeles to serve the Church of Saint Maurice in Pomona.

Fr. David Abdelsayed was born in America in October 9, 1974 and prior to his ordination, he served as a sunday school teacher and youth leader in Saint Athanasius Church in Northridge since 1991 until 2002. He served as a consecrated servant for the Diocese of Los Angeles since 1998; and at Saint Verena and the Three Holy Youth Church and the Coptic Orthodox Christian Center since 2002. Fr. David has a masters degree in Structural Engineering and as well as a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. He is the son-in-law of Fr. Athanasius Ragheb and the twin brother of Fr. John Paul Abdelsayed.

The New priest will travel to the Monastery of Saint Pishoy in Wadi El Natroun Region, Egypt to spend his forty days and will return to begin his service at Saint Maurice Church on April 6, 2006. The Rites of Receiving the new Priest will be on Friday April 7, 2006 at Saint Maurice Church at 7:00pm.

May Our Lord grant Fr. David Abdelsayed and his family a blessed service for the Glory of His Name.
