Ecumenical Prayer Service with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange

His Grace Bishop Serapion and several members of the clergy will participate, God willing, in an Ecumenical Prayer Service organized by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange under the auspices of the Most Reverend Kevin Vann, Bishop of Orange.

The service will take place on Tuesday, March 3 from 7:30-8:30 pm at the Arboretum at Christ Cathedral (formerly Crystal Cathedral) located at 13280 Chapman Ave. in Garden Grove.

From the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange’s flyer:

Currently Christians of various denominations are being persecuted in many different parts of the world for their faith. As Christians, we are called to aid those in need, especially our brothers and sisters in the faith, by prayers, acts of charity, and works of justice.

This year’s annual Diocese of Orange Ecumenical Prayer Service for Christian Unity is focused on bringing attention to the plight of Christians being persecuted for their faith throughout the world, and to show our support and solidarity with them in prayer.

We believe that it is important that Christians of all denominations come together to pray for our suffering brothers and sisters, as we continue to work towards building Christian unity and fulfilling the prayer of Jesus “that they all may be one” (Jn 17:21).

All are invited to join the Most Reverend Kevin Vann, Bishop of Orange, His Grace Bishop Serapion of the Coptic Orthodox Church, Diocese of Los Angeles, Southern California and Hawaii, and His Grace Mar Awa Royel, Bishop of the Assyrian Church of the East, Diocese of California, as well as other Christian leaders and members of the Body of Christ, in an ecumenical evening Prayer Service in solidarity with persecuted Christians.

We encourage our children to participate in this ecumenical gathering of prayer and solidarity with our persecuted brethren in the Middle East and beyond.
