With great joy, the Diocese announces the appointment of our beloved father, His Grace Bishop Serapion, as the Abbot of Saint Antony Monastery in Yermo, California.

St. Antony Monastery, Yermo, CaliforniaThe appointment was made by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II on December 27, 2012 via Papal Decree No. 4/1, which reads in full:

Saint Anthony Monastery in California will be under the authority of His Grace Bishop Serapion, Bishop of Los Angeles in the United Stated with the continuation of the spiritual guidance of His Grace Bishop Sarapamon, Bishop and Head of St. Pishoy Monastery.
